Early Life and Influences

Dimebag Darrell was born as Darrell Lance Abbott in Arlington, Texas, a suburb of Dallas and Fort Worth, in a family of composer Jerry Abbott. His father owned a recording studio called "Pantego Sound Studios" in Pantego, where Darrell was exposed to many blues guitarists. However, it was Ace Frehley from the band "Kiss" who inspired him to start playing the guitar.
